Mel Hurlbut

PROJECT MANAGER

As a Project Manager, Mel follows the project along from the beginning to the end. She helps clients through tough decisions and keeps them updated as the project progresses. Mel’s educational background is in Group Dynamics and Team Building which she utilized early on through mentoring and facilitating all types of outdoor activities. At Lewis Creek she is able to bring this experience to support staff and clients through conversations and to truly understand project goals and keep them aligned. She is also a Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson!

Mel’s role at Lewis Creek has allowed her to explore her inner DIYer. She has a woodshop at home and converted garage/storage buildings into her first home. She loves how Lewis Creek offers a holistic package, we help clients put a dream to paper in a design and then make it a reality all while being transparent and supportive throughout the process.

Outside of work, Mel’s passion is field hockey. She played in college D1, and currently plays in an adult league throughout the year. She also owns a Field Hockey Club where she hosts spring clinics and a summer camp.

Mel is from Farnham, England and currently lives in Georgia with her husband, Pat and Zella. She chose to live in Vermont because of the variety. She lives 15 minutes from the lake and 30 minutes from the mountains. There are so many activities available and four different seasons to enjoy them in. She loves to boat and rock climb in the summer and ski/snowboard in the winter. Her motorcycle is also a hit in the summer, keeping the commute as fun as possible!

Did you know?

If Mel could have a superpower, it would be to produce delicious, 5-star restaurant quality food in the blink of an eye.

She has always wanted to learn how to surf (but only if it were always hot and sunny)!

Her guilty pleasure is dark chocolate covered berries…or really anything covered in dark chocolate.
